Best Easter EVER!

Yesterday turned out to be as close to one of the most perfect days of my life. I woke early. Put the ham in the oven, with my mother's favorite ham glaze. As I drank one of the best cups of coffee ever...coffee is always so much better when someone else makes it...I wrote a few paragraphs on book number six. Yes, Book #6. It's is called Dr. Mann. I just have the first chapter and a little bit done.

Then we headed to Easter Sunday Mass, and listened to one of the most inspiring homilies. Tears surfaced in my eyes. The resurrection of our Jesus. The sacrifices our God and our Jesus have made for us resonated so fully. All my aches, pains and earthly worries were washed away by the fact that Jesus provided us a second chance. And, it hit me...

That's what Painted Windows, my first book, was all about. Second chances. A second chance for a homeless teen. But, you know, humans are not the only ones to experience homelessness and abandonment.

Close friends of mine contacted me this week and sent me a couple pictures. This is one of them. It is of a female chihuahua, named Little Bit, who was found abandoned in a house after her owners moved off and left her behind. She was discovered after a week maybe? Bless her little heart, she's just skin and bones! Here are the words I have for her former owners -- $^5z* %u$Y# @&^)!!! (These were not nice words, in case you were wondering!!).

Needless-to-say, my friends wanted to make sure she found a good home, and with a little reaching out to my colleagues, a home was quickly found! A home with another chihuahua named Piper!! I had the blessed experience of helping this little girl on her journey to her new forever home yesterday after we left church. The Lord shone down on all of us who had a hand in helping this wonderful little gal! And here she is now in her new home with her new Mommy and her forever-friend Piper. And she even had a cat! Yes, folks life is good, especially when the Lord is at the steering wheel!

Looks like one happy fur-baby to me!!
